Precision Grinding & Polishing

Grinding and Polishing

Grinding and Polishing is a specialized manufacturing process that uses abrasive tools to remove material from a surface, improving the surface finish and maintaining the tolerance needed for a particular application. It is often the final step in the machining process, designed for tight tolerances and a desired surface finish.

O.D. and I.D. Grinding

Our processes achieve tight tolerance levels, typically down to .0005 of an inch. This ensures every component meets the specifications while ensuring flawless operation in its final application. En-Chro Plating specialize in two primary types of precision grinding:

  • O.D. Grinding (Outer Diameter): O.D. Grinding is the process of precision grinding the outer surface of round components. Part sizes up to 26’’ diameter x 126’’ long
  • I.D. Grinding (Inner Diameter): The ID method grinds the inside diameter of a component's cylindrical opening. Part sizes up to 50’’ diameter x 40’’ long
  • Surface grinding. Grinding of flat plates can also be achieved by means surface grinding

THINK EN-CHRO

We have been helping engineers find solutions to surface coating challenges for over 40 years.

Polishing

Enchro Plating's specialty services range 3/16" diameter up to 16" diameter with lengths up to 39'. Polishing of long shafts up to 40 feet long is done by the use of a 8 head belt polisher. Utilizing 8 heads each with a specific belt grit allow us to polish the bars to a specific size requirement and  gives the bar a specific finish. Finishes can be achieved as low as 4 RA and specialty polishing to 28 RZ
