Hydraulic Cylinders and Piston Rods

Hydraulic Cylinders and Piston Rods

Hydraulic cylinders and piston rods repair are essential components in heavy-duty machinery across a wide range of industries, including construction, agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and marine applications. While they are built for efficiency, the harsh environments in which they operate can cause significant wear and damage, such as scratches and surface imperfections. Replacing these components can be a major challenge due to long lead times, which can sometimes be as long as a year. Locating a qualified hydraulic cylinders and piston rods repair facility can also be a challenge.

En-Chro Plating provides a solution to these challenges with a streamlined repair process designed to get your equipment back in service quickly.

THINK EN-CHRO

We have been helping engineers find solutions to surface coating challenges for over 40 years.

Surface Treatment and Repair

Our repair process begins with the complete removal of the existing surface coating. The cylinders and/or rods are then thoroughly inspected to identify and repair any imperfections. Depending on the damage, we use methods such as welding or electroplating to fix the affected areas. Following these repairs, we apply a new surface treatment to enhance the component's wear and corrosion resistance, ensuring it can withstand tough operational environments for a long time.

Hard Chrome Plating: A preferred method for surface treatment, hard chrome plating involves applying a durable layer of chromium to the hydraulic cylinder and/or piston rod. The thickness of this chrome layer depends on the amount needed to restore the piston rod or cylinder to its original OEM tolerance.

Grinding/Polishing: After the hard chrome plating is complete, we perform grinding or polishing. This crucial step restores the surface to its original design specifications, ensuring the hydraulic cylinder and piston rod meet the original OEM tolernace.
Inspection: We maintain rigorous inspection protocols throughout the entire repair process. This continuous oversight allows us to catch any potential issues early on, enabling us to make adjustments and ensure a cost-effective and accurate final product.
