Electroless Nickel Plating

Electroless Nickel Plating

Electroless nickel plating is a widely used process, valued for its uniformity, hardness, corrosion and wear resistance. En-Chro Plating offers high (10% or higher) and medium phosphorus (5% - 9%) baths along with gas fired, walk-in oven and heat treatment or baking processes for improved adhesion and increased hardness. Our processes comply with FDA regulations for the food, medical device industries.

En-Chro Plating services the following industries for electroless nickel plating:

En-Chro Plating's electroless nickel plating offers advanced protection with highly effective corrosion and wear resistance, ensuring long-lasting performance. This versatile application also provides effective lubrication for hard-to-reach areas. Our tanks can accommodate small parts up to 4' x 4' x 165" when run vertically.

THINK EN-CHRO

We have been helping engineers find solutions to surface coating challenges for over 40 years.

High Phosphorus Electroless Nickel Plating

High Phosphorus electroless nickel plating delivers a maximum barrier against aggressive or acidic corrosive environments. Add our heat treatment to enhance the electroless nickel plating hardness and adhesion.

Medium Phosphorus Electroless Nickel Plating

Medium phosphorus electroless nickel plating offers a well balanced protection of hardness, wear and corrosion resistance, a perfect solution for most applications.

Electroless nickel plating thickness is from Flash to .0025”

Electroless Nickel Plating Heat Treatment

Enchro Plating’s 750 Gas Fired Walk-In Oven is our large, industrial oven that utilizes natural gas and is capable of reaching internal temperatures up to 750 degrees Fahrenheit. Our heat-treating oven is designed to accommodate very large components up to 8’ in length and is used for baking for adhesion or hydrogen embrittlement relief.
The electroless nickel coating, in its initial state, typically exhibits a Coating Hardness of RC48-52 (50 on the Rockwell C scale), which already provides resistance to wear. However, the electroless nickel plating coating is Heat-Treatable to RC68-70. By undergoing a controlled thermal process in the walk-in oven, its hardness can be significantly increased, enhancing its durability and wear resistance for more demanding applications.
